Govardhan Clay Crafts

Traditional clay pottery, decorative gopis, and festival diyas shaped from the sacred earth of Govardhan Hill.

Traditional Potter, Govardhan Hill

Our workshop sits at the foot of Govardhan Hill, where the clay itself is considered sacred. Mohan Kumhar learned pottery from his father at age seven, shaping his first diya on a hand-spun wheel. Today we create everything from intricate Radha-Krishna figurines to simple deepak lamps for temple aarti. Every piece is hand-shaped, sun-dried, and kiln-fired using traditional methods — no moulds, no shortcuts.
