A complete shringar is assembled in an order, and each element is chosen against the one before it rather than in isolation.
Start with the vastra
The poshak sets the palette for everything that follows. Choose it first, by season and by occasion, and let the ornament answer to it.
Mukut and ornament
A mukut is matched to the poshak in metal tone and in scale. A tall mukut over a light summer poshak reads as unbalanced; keep the weight of the two in proportion.
Kundan and meenakari finishes carry colour of their own. Where the poshak is already worked, a plainer mukut is usually the better choice.
Fragrance and finish
Itr is applied last and sparingly. A single touch on the vastra, never on the deity form directly, and never enough to linger in the room after seva.
